I’m confused by your use of ‘or’.

I would put in a F4RT, the engine out of the Renault Megane Sport.
Then put a sticker on the back that my Z is powered by F4RT

A FUCKING NISSAN ENGINE, if you want a modern one I suggest a JDM skyline motor but I prefer the original with triple carbs and a 5 speed. Oh its a heavy 280Z, then maybe go for the Skyline to make up for the 300lbs of extra weight they gained since the 240Z (the one you want). They took off the park bench bumpers so maybe only 200lbs of extra weight.

Some sort of naturally aspirated, newer-ish I6. So probably an S54.

Yeah I don’t care about 280Zs, throw an R34 motor in there, but to do that safely you would have to update everything. I can tell you that even the modifications I have on my 240 make you see how far off the modern world the chassis is and braking. I have a disk conversion in the rear for a reason! I don’t have coil overs because I don’t want to hurt my car, but I did everything I could to make the handling better with the added performance. I can’t even imagine an S30 with that much HP, without many dollars spent it would be dangerous.

I think an RB20DET would be a kind-of-different choice and it would probably be plenty of fun.

I will be blasphemous and unoriginal at the same time.
I will find a way to cram a 2JZ-GTE in there. Because no one in their right mind would.

Chevrolet Performance’s CT525 6.2L crate engine is based on the latest-generation “LS” engine family and delivers serious power for serious racing series, including Super Late Model and similar. It is rated at 533 hp and 477 lb-ft of torque!
This 6.2L engine is similar to the LS3 V-8 that is standard in the Chevrolet Corvette, but we’ve adapted it to Circle Track racing with a carburetor intake manifold, 6-quart racing oil pan, and more. The engine is lightweight and strong, using an aluminum block with cross-bolted six-bolt main caps and high-flow LS3 rectangular-port cylinder heads.
